Background images for your website are easy as pie to make. Here's a quick, easy way to create unique, free background images you can put text on.
It’s not necessary to be a great photographer in order to create a nice background image. In fact it’s very easy to make an image no one else has. I’m going to show you how you can do it. I used a Samsung Galaxy S3 to take my pictures. Your Android or iPhone will work great for this. Continue for the rest of the post and the video.
Website owners are always struggling to find a unique background image to use. Many of us use stock images because it seems easier than making an image ourselves. But there is a problem with stock images…
A while ago, I bought a stock image of a mobile phone. Within three days, I saw the same picture 10 times on other websites. It would have been better to just take a picture of one of our phones, but I was trying to save time… Oops.
So the other day, my wife and I were shopping for granite counter-tops for our kitchen. As we walked through the warehouse where all the slabs are on display, it came to me that using my phone to take pictures of the slabs would give me free, unique and interesting backgrounds I could use to overlay text on.
So I took about 20 pictures. I discarded three and edited the rest to a useful size (1080 pixels). Next, I used Canva to add the text for the featured image of this post. Just a few minutes and the job was finished. Canva is still in Beta at this time. I'm not sure if you can jump right in or not. If not, using a simple image editor like Paint.net is nearly as easy. Of course, get Photoshop you're good to go.
Then it’s an easy to upload the file to your WordPress Media Library or your Content Delivery Network or CDN. Watch the video to see how to do all of this.
Here’s the thing. You could make background pictures of a wall, bricks, leaves, trees, or anything you want. Then it’s easy to edit them for your site’s needs. Presto! Free Background images.
