As you build your list of leads, if you're a marketer, you'll want to monetize the list. Treat your subscribers right. Remember the Golden Rule and never break it. Treat people like you would want to be treated. Your list is the only thing that can save you if all else goes wrong. It's really the lifeblood of any business.
Keep subscribers in the loop with regular updates. Help them out. Help them get started by offering tips, tools, and insights you have learned from starting up your own business. Then, every once in a while send an offer for products and services you think will make their life easier or will help them reach their goals.
Auto-responders offer two ways to connect to your list. The first is via the followup, or timed feature. Your emails are sent out at scheduled intervals. You create and organize those emails in advance with information you want to share. When new subscribers come onboard, they will receive these emails in the exact order you select at various pre-determined times such as Day1, Day 3, Day5, and so on.
The other way is through a broadcast you create as you go. This means you can speak to your entire subscriber database anytime you feel like it. If you want to alert them to a timely blog post, or if you something special to say, or have an event to promote, these broadcast emails will get your message out.
There's always a discussion about how often to send your emails. I'd advise you NOT to send out more than one per day. Also, keep them short and to the point.
Remember the Golden Rule. Think about all the email you get on a daily basis. Just because you can send a message every hour of the a day, should you?
Keeping people on your list is as important as getting them to subscribe.
You want them to anticipate your email. Give your subscribers great content. Keep it interesting. Try to send no less than once per week.
People will unsubscribe from your list after a while or when they lose interest. It's OK. It's not personal. Folks move on, so don't stop trying to build your list! Over time you'll attract your own unique audience.
